6 September 2012 Humankind is a literary animal – Orhan Pamuk about reading

“I am convinced that people are literary animals. We need literature,” says Orhan Pamuk in an interview with Polityka’s journalists: Justyna Sobolewska and Piotr Stasiak. He then goes on to add: “Literature is still possible. We only need a piece of paper and a pen or a computer. This is the cheapest way of creating. On the Internet, you just need energy, rage, and imagination, and then you just have to press the right button – and you have a book”.

The interview with the Nobel Prize winner who will visit Krakow during the Conrad Festival in less than two months, was featured in the latest issue of the weekly.
