8 October 2012 NIKE for Marek Bieńczyk

This year's NIKE Literary Award went to Marek Bieńczyk, writer, historian, translator, essayist and ethnologist. The jury chaired by Tadeusz Nyczek rewarded Książka twarzy, a collection of essays published by Świat Książki. This is the first time this particular genre won the award. The readers of Gazeta Wyborcza awarded the people's choice award – the Readers' NIKE – to Andrzej Franaszek for Miłosz. Biografia, published by Znak. The awards were presented yesterday night during a festive gala in the Library of the University of Warsaw, broadcast live by TVP Kultura.
