16 January 2013 The Second Life of a Book in Gołębnik!

In 2013, the exceptional The Second Life of a Book book-crossing campaign will have also its editions in the popular Gołębnik, i.e. the Faculty of Polish Studies of Jagiellonian University. The first edition will take place tomorrow, the 16th of January. The free book swap will last from 10 a.m. till 8 p.m. in the hall of the building at ul. Gołębia 14. We invite you to come!

The Second Life of a Book in Gołębnik is a great return of the idea of a book swap at the Faculty of Polish Studies. The first book swap at the Faculty of Polish Studies of Jagiellonian University was met with such a warm and enthusiastic response that the organisers decided to continue the idea of these meetings in 2013. We invite not only students of Polish philology, but also all Krakow inhabitants who wish to drop by. The books that will remain after the swap will be used for setting up an official book-crossing shelf in the “den” at ul. Gołębia, Room 57.

The Second Life of a Book in Gołębnik (ul. Gołębia 14):
16th of January 2013
20th of March 2013

You will find all the information about the planned swaps at: www.drugiezycieksiazki.pl

We would like to remind you that The Second Life of a Book campaign is a joint initiative of the Bookeriada portal and the Krakow Festival Office, which has been held every month since February 2012. Apart from the monthly editions, four special events have taken place as well. In total, more than3,500 participants swapped books in 2012, and almost 7,000 books found new owners. Over one thousand volumes were also donated to libraries. In 2013, additional editions of book swaps in Gołębnik are organised by the Students’ Self-Government of the Jagiellonian University and the Krakow Festival Office.
