23 October 2013 The 16th edition of the Goncourt List: the Polish Choice award

In cooperation with the Conrad Festival and the Sonia Draga publishing house, as well as thanks to the support of the Goncourt Academy and the Jan Michalski Foundation, the French Institute in Poland is organising the 16th edition of the Goncourt List: the Polish Choice award.

On Friday, the 25th of October, a jury including students of Romance studies from twelve Polish universities will debate at the French Institute in Krakow under honorary chairmanship of Sonia Draga, president of the Sonia Draga publishing house, on the selection of the best French novel of 2013.

The name of the winner of the Goncourt List: the Polish Choice 2013 award will be announced during the Conrad Festival on Saturday, the 26th of October, at 4 p.m., at Pałac Pod Baranami (Rynek Główny 27) in the presence of Tahar Ben Jelloun, member of the Goncourt Academy.

After the press conference, we would like to invite you to a meeting with Joy Sorman, author of Comme une bête awarded with the Goncourt List: the Polish Choice 2012 award. The meeting will be accompanied by a promotion of the Polish edition of the novel entitled Jak zwierzę [Like a Beast] (published by Sonia Draga). After the meeting, the author will sign copies of the Polish edition of the novel. Admission is free. Consecutive translation will be provided.

We would also like to invite everyone to the stand of the Sonia Draga publishing house at the Krakow Book Fair, where Joy Sorman will be signing her books on Saturday, the 26th of October, between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m.
