21 January 2014 Two editions of the campaign for a good start

We are beginning the New Year with a strong literary accent. This coming Sunday (the 26th of January), as many as two editions of The Second Life of a Book campaign await all book lovers.

PLEASE NOTE: at your request, we are changing the venue of our monthly campaign to a larger one – at 3 p.m., we would like to invite you to the Tourist Services Centre at ul. Powiśle 11. Our partner – the Czuły Barbarzyńca in Krakow bookstore-cafe – has prepared some surprises for all the participants: discounts on books and coffee and attractive book prizes.

But there is more: at 3:30 p.m., representatives of Strefa Wolnego Czytania (Free Reading Zone) would like to invite everyone to the ceremony of awarding certificates to Reading-Friendly Places selected in the Reading-Friendly Places in Malopolska competition. The ceremony will be combined with a multimedia presentation of the Reading-Friendly Places in Malopolska e-guide showcasing the most interesting, creative, and original Reading-Friendly Places and innovative ways to promote books and reading.

And before noon, at 11 a.m., the third edition of the Najedzeni Fest! festival will begin traditionally at Forum Przestrzenie (ul. Marii Konopnickiej 28), along with a cookbook and culinary magazine swap organised as part of the event. We encourage you to join us!

This year’s first edition of the Najedzeni Fest! festival will be dedicated to carnival. Exhibitors will prepare the best snacks for carnival balls, and wine distributors will open champagne, Prosecco, and cava bottles for us. During the workshops, you will also find out how to deal with a hangover using food.

The previous editions were very successful, each time attracting several dozen exhibitors, whose stands were visited by thousands of people craving delicious food. Many debutantes started their professional activity at the festival, and restaurant owners tried to outdo one another in culinary ideas, presenting dishes from every corner of the world. The festival is the perfect opportunity to take a closer look at Krakow’s newest restaurants and patisseries, talk to bloggers, producers, or eco-farmers.

We would like to remind you that The Second Life of a Book is a joint campaign of the Bookeriada portal and the Krakow Festival Office. The swap at Arteteka is organised in cooperation with the Regional Public Library in Krakow. Find out more about the campaign at: www.drugiezycieksiazki.pl

Media patrons: Radio Kraków and the Fragile magazine.
