23 October 2015 Announcing the results of the Promoters of Debuts competition

At the 20th October 2015 session, which took place at the Book Institute at ul. Zygmunta Wróblewskiego 6 in Krakow, the Jury of the 1st edition of the Promoters of Debuts Competition 2015, composed of:

Elżbieta Kalinowska – Book Institute (President), Bernadetta Darska, Ph.D., Dariusz Nowacki, Ph.D., Michał Sowiński – Tygodnik Powszechny Foundation

based on the discussion and on previously filled in assessment forms, selected

5 (five) Laureates of the Main Prize

and

1 (one) Laureate of the Special Prize of Krakow – UNESCO City of Literature.

At the same time, the Jury, using section 12, paragraph 2 of the Regulations, awarded fewer awards than were initially planned.

Congratulations to the winners! Each of them will be contacted by the Competition office to agree to the terms and conditions for the payment of the prizes. The results will be published in Tygodnik Powszechny no. 44/2015, dated 1 November 2015 (on sale starting 28.10, online from 27.10) and on the websites of the Book Institute, the Conrad Festival and the Krakow Festival Office. The announcement of the results of the Competition is planned during the Conrad Award Gala, combined with a lecture by Jonathan Franzen, titled “How to write”, which will be held at the ICE Kraków Congress Centre on the 25th of October at 8 pm. Detailed results of the competition, including the score in both stages of the assessment of the submissions will be sent via e-mail to any interested participants by request.
