8 September 2016 Ukrainian writers of the young generation in Krakow

A strong representation of Ukrainian writers: Sofia Andrukhovych, Maria Nikitiuk, Natalka Sniadanko, Haśka Shyjan and Iryna Vikyrchak – announcing new guests of the Conrad Festival!

In the evening of the October 27th, join us for a meeting “No country for old prose”, with a range of renowned Ukrainian writers and journalists of the young generation. Despite the fact that Ukrainian literature has a wide and loyal group of followers in Poland, we still hear only about the most famous authors, and at the same time we ignore what is the most interesting – writers and authors of the young generation. Their novels not only present Ukraine in a different – more complex – way, but they also pose a literary challenge. The meeting with Sofia Andrukhovych, Maria Nikitiuk, Natalka Sniadanko and Haśka Shyjan wil be conducted by Iryna Vikyrchak.

You can find more information about the writers in the “Conrad Supplement”, published in this week’s Tygodnik Powszechny.
