The special guest of the first day of the festival will be Pascal Quignard, a French musician, essayist, novelist, translator (from Latin and Chinese), the author of the novel All the Mornings of the World which was the basis for the famous film with the same title directed in 1991 by Alain Corneau, shown in over 30 countries. Thanks to the music from this film (500,000 albums sold) its performer Jordi Savall became well known around the world. Pascal Quignard, the winner of the 2002 Goncourt Prize had been an editor and then general director of the Gallimard publishing house for 20 years, finally engaging himself only in writing. Despite his fame he is called "the most iconoclastic of all modern French writers".
