6 October 2011 Nobel Prize for Literature – we will know the winner at 1.00 pm

Today at 1.00 pm, we will learn the winner of this year’s Nobel Prize for Literature. Today’s Gazeta Wyborcza says that “The data given by the world’s leading gambling and betting website, the company Ladbrokes, shows that as many as 80 percent of players have decided in the past 12 hours to bet on the American bard Bob Dylan. Dylan has outdistanced such long-time favourites as Adonis (6/1), Haruki Murakami (8/1) and Tomas Tranströmer (10/1). In the ranking of another international betting company Unibet, Polish poet Adam Zagajewski occupies eighth place, and Japanese writer Haruki Murakami, ahead of Indian writer Vijaydan Detha, Syrian poet Adonis and American writer Cormak McCarthy, is most likely to win. Subsequent positions in the ranking belong to the Australian poet Les Murray, Swedish poet Tomas Tranströmer and Korean writer Chang-Rae Lee."
