31 October 2011 Your 10 minutes and Book Swap (Przekaźnik Książkowy)
Has Krakow a chance of having another Dorota Masłowska? We will see in just a couple of days. On the 3rd and 4th of November, the Book Fair in Krakow will feature the final of a nationwide competition for debutants – Your 10 minutes.
10 out of 100 pieces submitted have qualified for the final. Each of the young authors will have an opportunity to present their work before an audience, and the winner will be announced on Sunday, the 6th of November, during the official announcement of the results.
Thanks to a collaboration between the Free Reading Zone and Virtualo, the winner will have a chance to publish their book in e-book form. The book will be promoted and showcased by such bookshops as empik.com/ebooki, Gandalf, ebook.pl and other partners of the Virtualo distribution network. Additionally, all ten texts, along with recommentation from the Free Reading Book will go to major Polish publishing houses. We hope that our compaign will be a chance for new talents to emerge on the Polish literary scene.
Your 10 minutes is one of the compaigns organised as part of the Free Reading Zone 2011. It aims to support debutants and allow young writers to present their work and have it assessed by professional editors and publishers.
