Aleksander Nawarecki

Polish specialist in literary history and theory, Professor of the Silesian University. Author of many books and textbooks (including Przeszłość to dziś. Romantyzm [The Past Is Now. The Romanticism] co-written with Dorota Siwicka). Precursor of micrologic studies of literature; researcher of the poetry of Józef Baka, an 18th-century Jesuit priest (Czarny karnawał [Black Carnival], 1991), of the Skamander poets’ group (Rzeczy i marzenia [Things and Dreams], 1993) and of romantic poetry (Pokrzywa.
