Aleksandra Wojtaszek

Aleksandra Wojtaszek

(born 1991) – graduate of Balkan studies, journalist and translator. Doctor of Philosophy in literary studies, lecturer at the Institute of Slavic Philology of the Jagiellonian University. She specialises in the culture and history of former Yugoslavian countries; she studied in Kraków, Zagreb and Belgrade. She has published, among others, in Tygodnik Powszechny, Herito, Krytyka Polityczna, Duży Format, Dwutygodnik, Ha!art and New Eastern Europe. She translates modern prose and poetry in Croatian, Serbian and Bosnian. As a translator, she is the stipendist of the CELA (Connecting Emerging Literary Artist) programme and the winner of the Kraków UNESCO City of Literature Award.
