Almudena Grandes

(born in 1960) – Spanish writer. Geographer and historian by education, she made her debut in 1989 with the famous novel Lulu (released in Poland in 2003), in which she boldly and openly described female eroticism. In 2017, her second novel, 
Los besos en el pan / Pocałunki składane na chlebie, was released in Polish. She wrote over a dozen books, most of which have been adapted for the cinema. For years, she has been writing columns for El País, where she presents her views on important social issues.
