Grzegorz Jankowicz

Grzegorz Jankowicz (b. 1978) is a philosopher of literature, publisher, critic, and translator. He cooperates with the Centre for Advanced Studies in the Humanities at the Jagiellonian University. He edits the culture section at Tygodnik Powszechny. He i a director of the literary programs for the Tygodnik Powszechny Foundation. He is program director for the Conrad Festival, and a member of the Copernicus Festival program council. He i a juror for two literary prizes: the European Union Prize for Literature and Conrad Award. His publications include: „Po co jest sztuka? Rozmowy z pisarzami” [What Is Art for? Conversations with Writers] (Kraków 2013), „Cmono. Rozmowy z pisarzami” [Cmono: Conversations with Writers] (Kraków 2013), „Gombrowicz – loading. Esej o formie życia” [Gombrowicz – Loading: An Essay on Form of Life] (Wrocław 2014), „Uchodźcy z ziemi Ulro. Eseje” [Refugees from the Land of Ulro: Essays] (2015), „Życie na poczytaniu. Rozmowy o literaturze i reszcie świata” [A Life Spent Reading: Conversations about Literature and the Rest of the World] (Wrocław 2016). He edited the volume „Opowieść o dwóch miastach. Wrocław i Kraków” [A Tale of Two Cities: Wrocław and Kraków] (Kraków 2015), a presentation of Wrocław and Kraków as cities of literature. He joined Anna Kałuża in preparing „Pracownia Poetycka Silesius. Rok 1: Foks, Sosnowski” [The Silesius Poetry Workshop, Year 1: Foks, Sosnowski] (Wrocław 2015) and „Pracownia Poetycka Silesius. Rok 2: Matywiecki, Pasewicz, Pietrek” [The Silesius Poetry Workshop, Year 2: Matywiecki, Pasiewicz, Pietrek] (Wrocław 2016). He joined Zofia Król in editing „Wolne słowa. Zestaw do ćwiczeń indywidualnych i zbiorowych” [Free Words: Sets of Individual and Group Exercises] (Gdańsk 2016). He joined Alberto Manguel in writing „Małe języki, wielkie literatury” [Small Languages, Big Literature] (Gdańsk 2017), „Blizny. Eseje” [Scars. Essays] (Wrocław 2019), and „Parmigianino, Ashbery i sztuka przemiany” [Parmigianino, Ashbery, and the Art of Transformation] (Kraków 2021). He lives in Kraków.
