Janusz Margański

(b. 1956) – translator, literary scholar and screenwriter, member of the Polish Film Academy. He has translated several dozen books on philosophy, theology, theory of literature, film and theatre and fiction (including J. Derrida, R. Rorty, P. Ricoeur, G. Deleuze, E. Levinas, G. Didi-Hubermann, Z. Bauman, M. Proust and P.K. Dick). He received the „Literatura na Świecie” award for his translations. He is the author of the books: Gombrowicz, wieczny debiutant (2001) and Geografia pragnień. Opowieść o Gombrowiczu (2005). He co-edits critical publication of works by Witold Gombrowicz. He writes texts for the theatre and film. His script for the film Wymyk (2011) brought him the award at the 36 PFF Gdynia 2011 and nomination for PNF Orły 2012.
