Jerzy Stelmach

Born in Krakow in 1954, lawyer and philosopher. He runs the Chair of Philosophy of Law and Legal Ethics at the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Jagiellonian University. In 2012 he was honoured with the Officer's Cross of the Order of Poland’s Revival for his outstanding academic and research achievements. He is also known as an ardent art collector. He wrote a book about his passion Uporczywe upodobanie. Zapiski kolekcjonera (Persistent Predilection. Notes of a Collector) in which he describes his own philosophy of collecting.
