Joanna Lech

Poet, the author of the collections of poetry Zapaść (2009) and Nawroty (2010). She has published, among others, in the following magazines and newspapers: Opcje, Studium, Tygiel Kultury, Portret, Topos, Gazeta Wyborcza, Czas Kultury, Tygodnik Powszechny, Radar (2/2010), as well as in the Poets for New Century anthology (2010). She is the winner of numerous national poetry contests, including ones held in honour of K. K. Baczyński, T. Sułkowski, S. Brzozowski, Z. Dominiak, and R. Wojaczek. In 2007, she was awarded the Grand Prix of the 6th R. M. Rilke Poetry Festival in Sopot and the main prize in the 13th edition of the national J. Bierezin Poetry Contest held in Łódź. Her first volume of verse earned her a nomination for the Wrocław Silesius Poetry Award, as well as the special award in the “Debut” category during the 10th edition of the literary competition organised by the Polish Association of Book Publishers. She was also nominated for the 2011 NIKE Literary Award.
