Katarzyna Janowska

A Polish journalist. She is the editor-in-chief of the culture department in the Lifestyle & Woman segment at ONET. She was Director of the TVP Kultura channel till 2015. A former Director of the nTalk channel and Chief Editor of Przekrój magazine. A graduate in Polish Studies and Film Studies at the Jagiellonian University. She has worked along with Katarzyna Kolenda-Zaleska for the Gazeta Krakowska newspaper. She has also been connected with the culture section of the Polityka weekly magazine. She is famous mainly for Rozmowy na koniec wieku (Conversations for the End of the Century) and Rozmowy na nowy wiek (Conversations for a New Century) – two series of interviews with the most distinguished representatives of Polish culture (including Marek Edelman, Czesław Miłosz and Władysław Bartoszewski) which she conducted, along with Piotr Mucharski, at the Polish Television (TVP channel). During the Festival, she hosted the meeting with Mariusz Treliński entitled Drugie życie opery (The Second Life of Opera).
