Łukasz Trzciński

Graduate of the Leon Schiller National Higher School of Film, Television and Theatre in Łódź and member of the Association of Polish Artists Photographers. As a reporter-photographer he has worked in over forty countries, including Afghanistan, Iraq, Indonesia, Russia and several Middle Eastern countries. For several years now, his major interest has been Central-Eastern Europe. He is the winner of the prestigious annual competition for photojournalism organised as part of the Pictures of The Year International programme. He has been many times awarded in the Polish Press Photo Competition, his works having won in the Photo of the Year category twice (1999, 2002). He is a scholarship holder at the Adam Mickiewicz Institute in Warsaw as a participant in the Młoda Polska (Young Poland) programme for young Polish artists. He has been the author and curator of numerous exhibitions held in Poland and abroad. A co-founder of the Visavis.pl Photographers’ Collective and the Imago Mundi Foundation promoting photography and photographers, as well as co-organiser of the Photomonth festival in Kraków. Along with Wojciech Nowicki, he hosted the meeting with Matteo Terzaghi.
