Marcel Łoziński

(born in 1940) – director and documentary film maker. Graduated from the Faculty of Electronics at the Warsaw University of Technology and the Faculty of Directing at the National Film School in Łódź. He was nominated for the European Film Award for Poste Restante (2009), he also received an Academy Award nomination for 89 mm From Europe (1993). Member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciencesy and the European Film Academy. In the 1970s and 1980s, he was associated with the Polish Television, then with Andrzej Wajda’s Zespół Filmowy “X” production studio, as well as Warsaw Documentary Film Studio, from which he was removed for political reasons. In the 1980s he was associated with Solidarity. These days, he teaches at the Andrzej Wajda Film School. He made over 20 films, he was also nominated and received several dozen of the most important distinctions in the film world, both Polish and international. In 2014, he was awarded the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
