Marta Dzido

(b. 1981) – writer, documentalist, graduated from the State School of Film, Theatre and TV (PWSFTviT) in Łódź. She has published her texts in „Duży Format”, „Lampa”, „Ha!art”, „Przekrój”, „Magyar Lettre Internationale”, „Radar”, „Jahrbuch Polen” and „Obieg”. Author of novels:  Ślad po mamie (2003), Małż (2005), the hypertext novel Matrioszka (2013) and a book of reportages Kobiety Solidarności (2016). Her new novel Frajda  will see print in 2018. As a director an scriptwriter she made the following documentaries: Paktofonika – hip-hopowa podróż do przeszłości (2009), which won the Hollywood Eagle Documentary Award, Downtown – Miasto Downów (2010), as  well as, jointly with  Piotr Śliwowski, the film: Solidarność według kobiet (2014), which received , among other awards, the Beyond Borders – Krzysztof Kieślowski Award and a special award of the Polish Film Institute. Currently working  on Siłaczki , a  dramatized documentary which is planned to premiere in November 2018.
