Marta Dzido

(born 1981) – writer and documentary filmmaker. Author of Ślad po mamie (2003), Małż (2005) and Frajda (2018), the hypertext novel Matrioszka (2013), the reportage book Kobieta Solidarności (2016) and texts printed in anthologies Wolałbym nie (2007) and Walka jest kobietą (2012). Graduate of the Film School in Łódź.  Cinematographer of the documentary Podziemne państwo kobiet (2009). As a director and scriptwriter, together with Piotr Śliwowski, she made the documentary Paktofonika. Hip-hopowa podróż do przeszłości (2009), Downtown. Miasto Downów (2010; awarded, among others, the Hollywood Eagle Documentary Award), Solidarność według kobiet (2014; awarded, among others, the Krzysztof Kieślowski Beyond Borders Award and a special award of the Polish Film Institute) and Siłaczki (2018). In 2019, she received the European Union Prize for Literature for her novel Frajda.
