Michał Jacaszek

Composer and producer of electroacoustic music that combines electronically dissected sounds with live instruments. He is the author of four music albums, illustrative music to accompany pieces of poetry and prose, theatre and film music, radio dramas. He cooperates with musicians, choreographers, new media artists and performers, as well as with painters, poets and writers. The cooperation with film makers and theatre directors plays an important role in Jacaszek’s work as composer. In 2009 Jacaszek received the Grand Prix of the Polish Radio and Television Theatre Festival “Dwa Teatry” (“Two Theatres”) for music he composed for Golgota Wrocławska (Wrocław Via Dolorosa) – a play directed by Jan Komasa and performed by the Polish Television Theatre. Jacaszek made also music for: Marc Silver’s film There Are No Others, There Is Only Us, Jolanta Krysowata’s documentary Nigdy nie wrócisz do domu (You Will Never Come Back Home) and Jan Komasa’s full-length film Sala samobójców (Suicide Room).
