Petr Šabach

Petr Šabach (born 1951) – a Czech writer and comic. A graduate of cultural studies, he took up various jobs in his life: he worked as an editor, as a janitor and in a cultural centre. In the 1980s, he was a lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. He is one of the most popular Czech writers. In the last few years, he has written Gówno się pali [Shit Is Burning] (2011), Podróże konika morskiego [Travels of a Hippocampus] (2012) and Masłem do dołu [With the Buttered Side Down] (2013). His prose is full of irony, lightness and distant attitude to reality.
