Ryszard Koziołek

(born 1966) – literary scholar, essayist, professor at the Institute of Polish Literature Sciences of the University of Silesia. In 2010, he received the Gdynia Literary Award in the Essay category for his book Ciała Sienkiewicza. Studia o płci i przemocy. He also published a book entitled Zdobyć historię. Problem przedstawienia w „Twarzy księżyca” Teodora Parnickiego (1999) and Znakowanie trawy albo praktyki filologii (2011) and edited Tylko Beatrycze by Teodor Parnicki in the Biblioteka Narodowa series (2004). Member of the jury of the Nike Literary Award in 2012–2015. In 2016, his book Dobrze się myśli literaturą was published, and won the Silesian Literary Laurel Prize. In 2017, he was awarded the Kazimierz Wyka Award for outstanding achievements in the field of essay writing, as well as literary and artistic criticism.
