One of the most distinguished translators of Polish literature into the English language (author of acclaimed translations of works by Jasieński, Ficowski, Jagielski); writer, essayist. He is a Canadian living in Krakow, Poland, for fifteen years. He studied at the Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada, and at the Jagiellonian Univerity in Krakow. He has published in numerous magazines in the United States, Canada and Europe. He wrote two collections of short stories in English: Hymns to Millionaires (2004) and Quatre Regards sur l’Enfant Jesus (2004), well received by international critics. For a few years now, he has been writing also in Polish. He has published his short stories in RitaBaum and Ha!art. The novel Nie to/Nie tamto (Not this/Not that) will be his debut in the Polish language.
