Classics Known and Discovered: Retranslations and New Translations

From time to time, readers become aware of new, sometimes widely debated translations of classics. The most controversial of such texts are retranslations of works by authors already known in Poland. Fortunately, however, there is no shortage of courageous translators willing to take up this challenge. On the other hand, we are still discovering authors hitherto absent from the canon of Polish literature. Prominent translators from various languages will discuss the challenges faced by authors of new translations of literary classics.
Prior to the meeting, the names of participants in the next edition of the Translatorium mentoring programme will be announced.
