A guided tour by Darek Foks
Every book is a distinct world into which the author invites us. Sometimes this world reminds us of our current reality, while at other times it is a completely fictitious universe. There is probably no person who would decline such an invitation. One of our basic reflexes as readers is to use our imagination to break through the boundary that separates us from the place being described to us – well-known or alien, real or fantastic. A film series that we launched last year and whose individual parts are hard to classify as one genre aims to present the oeuvre of selected Polish writers. Thanks to the knowledge and ingenuity of our tour guides whom we asked to prepare the “tour routes” for us, we will have a chance to visit the worlds of Julia Fiedorczuk, Mikołaj Grynberg, Adam Kaczanowski, Angelika Kuźniak, Dorota Masłowska, Bronka Nowicka, and Maciej Płaza.
