Luminescence. A meeting with Eleanor Catton

Luminescence. A meeting with Eleanor Catton

The gold rush in 19th century New Zealand, a world dominated by ruthless men, and superimposed over all of this, predictions and Zodiac signs – it would seem that nowadays, no one writes like this anymore. Eleanor Catton, however, shows that the novel in its best tradition is still doing very well, because the need for grand and complex narratives, like the lust for gold, has never left us, and still fires our imaginations.

Host: Maciej Świerkocki
