The nature of the future - a year-long series of meetingsMeeting with Arundhati Roy
Meeting with Arundhati Roy
Literature accompanies us every day, so this year we decided to offer readers an additional series of conversations (not only) about literature, entitled "The nature of the future".
"We will talk about the most important problems that we have to face today: about depression caused by social isolation, about systemic violence that occurs in institutions, about geopolitical processes that affect the life of local and global communities, about the relationship between people and other beings inhabiting the Earth... We will always bear in mind literature, wondering how it can help us to better solve these problems. The series will also be a way to prepare for this year's edition of the Conrad Festival, as the talks presented within it will place the festival's ideas in various contexts, ”says Grzegorz Jankowicz, Program Director of the Conrad Festival.
Every last Thursday of the month, from May 27 to December 2021, you will be able to watch online interviews with prominent writers from all over the world. All meetings will be lead by Grzegorz Jankowicz.
Meeting in June (June 24) will be an opportunity to listen to Arundhati Roy, Indian writer and activist, winner of the Booker Prize for the novel "The God of Small Things". During the conversation, the guest of the series will paint a picture of social and political changes taking place in India, which have a significant impact on the geopolitical situation of the world.
The meetings will be available on the Conrad Festival profile on Facebook.
The fact that here you did not find anything interesting for yourself does not mean
you will not find something in other sectors
