On Biography of Jacek Kuroń

On Biography of Jacek Kuroń

Jacek Kuroń was one of the key figures who shaped independent Poland in the post-communist era. He paid for his opposition to the communist regime by spending nine years in prison while his wife Gaja, the love of his life, waited on the outside. As a young man he built communism; he switched to backing capitalism, but he denounced both in his later years. A true socialist at heart, he passionately believed in grassroots movements. His power of his personality matched the strength of his convictions. The story of his life, closely intertwined with Polish history, is introduced by Anna Bikont and Helena Łuczywo.
