“His interests are incredibly broad, stemming, I think, from his worldview – a Borgesian conviction that the world is a library, that our reality and our lives are most fully revealed precisely in the invention of Gutenberg, that the world as such is above all a collection of letters,” this is how Krzysztof Varga once summed up the work of Jan Gondowicz – a critic, translator, editor, writer, a one-man institution and a legend of the literary world – who will share with the audience his reflections on the role of reading, correcting, translating and rewriting, and the constant efforts to do these things better. Editors, writers, translators and all lovers of the written word are invited to this showpiece event of the Kraków UNESCO City of Literature Editors’ Course during the Book Congress.
