Letters: Krakow UNESCO City of Literature

Venue: Main Market Square in Krakow
Exhibition open from 21 to 29 October 2017.

On the 21st of October, on the weekend preceding the Conrad Festival Krakow will celebrate the 4th anniversary of having been granted the title of the UNESCO City of Literature. On that occasion, the Krakow Festival Office – the operator of the UNESCO programme in Krakow – prepared once again a spatial exhibition of large-format letters.

For nearly a week, large-format letters forming the inscription „KRAKÓW MIASTO LITERATURY UNESCO” (Krakow UNESCO City of Literature) will be displayed on the Main Market Square, to enhance Krakow’s literary identity. The letters will be shown in a completely new form. The project refers to the Avant-garde Year and graphic motifs once used in „Zwrotnica” magazine. The letters have been designed and executed by Tomasz Budzyń – a designer, a curator and a graduate of the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts (in Industrial Design).

Tomek Budzyń – designer of applied graphic art, freelancer. He carries out projects in visual identification, branding, publication design and exhibitions. Curator of competitions and design reviews. In the years 2006–2016 a correspondent at  „2+3D” design quarterly. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow at the Faculty of Industrial Design.
