11 October 2012 Mo Yan and Nobel Prize for Literature
Chinese writer, Mo Yan, became the winner of this year’s Nobel Prize for Literature.
Mo Yan – was born on the 17th of February 1955 in the Shandong province. Before 2000, when the Swedish Academy awarded Gao Xingjian with the Nobel Prize for Literature, Mo Yan was considered by experts in Chinese literature as the strongest candidate for the award. The adaptation of his novel, Red Sorghum Clan, was a debut for the director Zhang Yimou (Red Sorghum) and started the career of Gong Li.
