Aga Zano

Aga Zano

An English teacher by training, a painter and writer by passion, author of numerous books for adults, young people and kids. She is a five-time winner of the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award, and laureate of the Grand Prix of its fifth edition. Her books brought her numerous distinctions and awards, including the Kornel Makuszyński Literary Prize, Book of the Year Award of the Polish Section of IBBY, Hestia Literary Journey Award, and the Special Prize of the Polish Section of IBBY (for Wyspa mojej siostry). Her books have been included among the List of Treasures of the Children's Book Museum and on the IBBY Outstanding Books for Young People with Disabilities international list. Mother to two sons, friend of cats and dogs, bike tourism aficionado, lover of outdoor dates and a big fan of strawberries with cream. Also a book addict, who cannot resist buying more.
