translator and writer. He taught literature at the Al-Quds University in Jerusalem. He writes for Wall Street Journal, Die Zeit, Haaretz, The Weekly Standard and The Clermont Review of Books. He published three books: Running Commentary (2010), Jerusalem: City of the Book (2017) and Kafka’s Last Trial: The Case of a Literary Legacy (2018), which was translated into Polish. He lives in Jerusalem.
