Ewa Klekot

Anthropologist, translator, curator. Lecturer at the Institute of Design of the SWPS University; she also gives lectures at the School of Form and the University of Warsaw. She is interested in the interdisciplinary linking of the humanities and social sciences with design and artistic activities, both in research and education. Graduated in archaeology and ethnology, she holds a PhD in art studies. Her current area of research includes the anthropology of manufacturing and related cognition and knowledge: skills, body knowledge, materials and processes; manufacturing traditions compared with intangible heritage. She is also concerned with anthropological reflection on art, especially the social construction of folk and primitive art, as well as the materiality and value of things considered as design, art, monument, museum exhibit. Member of the Monuments and Commemorations Team and of the Non-material Heritage Team set up by the Mayor of Warsaw; Chairperson of the Council of the Seweryn Udziela Ethnographic Museum in Kraków.
