Gábor T. Szántó

Hungarian writer, screenwriter, poet, essayist and editor. Graduated in law and political science from Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, participant in theInternational Writing Program Residency at the University of Iowa (2003), editor-in-chief of the Jewish monthly Szombat. He debuted in 1995 with the book A tizedik ember (‘The Tenth Man’). Based on his own work Homecoming, he wrote the screenplay for the film 1945 in collaboration with director Ferenc Török, which was recognised at the Berlin International Film Festival. Author of the book Kafka macskái (Kafka’s Cats), published in 2014. He lectures on modern Jewish literature.
