Janusz Margański
a translator, literary scholar and screenwriter(born in 1956) – translator, literary expert and screenwriter, member of the Polish Film Academy. He translated several dozen books on philosophy, theology, and theory of literature, film, theatre and literature, including works by Derrida, Rorty, Ricoeur, Deleuze, Levinas, Didi-Huberman, Bauman, Proust, and Dick. For his translation, he received the Literatura na Świecie magazine prize. He wrote: Gombrowicz, wieczny debiutant (2001) and Geografia pragnień. Opowieść o Gombrowiczu (2005). Currently, he co-edits the critical edition of Witold Gombrowicz’s works. He also writes for film and theatre. His screenplay for Wymyk (2011) received an award of the 36th Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdynia and was also nominated for the Eagle Polish Film Award in 2012.
