Jolanta Kozak
Translator of books and poems from English. She translated novels of the following American and English writers: William Wharton (Birdy, Dad, A Midnight Clear), Lewis Carroll (Alice in Wonderland), John Irving (The Cider House Rules), Kurt Vonnegut (The Sirens of Titan, Welcome to the Monkey House). She also translated poems by William Blake and short stories by Edgar Allan Poe. Moreover, she is not only an excellent practitioner of translation but she also authored a book on philosophy of translation. In her Literary Translation as a Metaphor published in 2009 she focuses on the essence of translator's work in the light of phenomenological and postmodernist theories of text.
