Marcin Kurek

Poet, translator and Spanish scholar by profession. His first publication was the volume of poetry Monolog wieczorny (An Evening Monologue, 1997). In 2010, he received the Kościelscy Foundation Award for the poem Oleander. He has translated, among others, texts by Francis Ponge, Arthur Rimbaud, Abdelkebir Khatibi, Luisa Buñuela, and David Huerta. His translation of 62 poems by the Catalan author Joan Brossa earned him, in 2006, the award granted by the Literatura na Świecie magazine (World Literature). He is a lecturer in Hispanic Literature at the University of Wrocław. He lives in Wrocław. Picutre: Łukasz Gawroński
