Michał Okoński
journalist. Editor at Tygodnik Powszechny. He specialises in writing about football and the Polish-Jewish relations. In the editorial office since 1991, he served (until 2015) as the deputy editor-in-chief of the weekly. Author of the book Futbol jest okrutny (Football is cruel) and a blog of the same title, for which he received the Małopolska Journalist Award in the Internet Journalism category (2011). Two times nominee for the Grand Press award in the Journalism category (2016, 2018), as well as for the Mediatory award (2018) and the Bohdan Tomaszewski Award (2021). He published an extended interview with Sister Małgorzata Chmielewska Wszystko, co uczyniliście... (All these things you’ve done, 1999), co-authored a collection of conversations with Father Tomasz Węcławski Pascha Jezusa (Jesus’s Passover, 2006) and edited a selection of Jerzy Turowicz’s journalism works Bilet do raju (Ticket to Paradise, 1999).
