Roberto Esposito

(born in 1950) – Italian philosopher, critic of political theology, notable for his original concepts of community, immunity and biopolitics as well as impolitics and impersonalism. He discusses biopolitism in the context of community and the way it is defined by contemporary Europeans. Frequently engages in dialogue with philosophers from different countries. Born in Naples, graduated and worked for a number of years at Neapolitan university. He currently teaches at the prestigious Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa. Regularly authors publications on numerous issues. He had more than 20 of his books published in Italian. His most recent works are Due. La macchina della teologia politica e il posto del pensiero (2013) and Da Fuori. Una filosofia per l’Europa (2016). His book Terms of the Political: Community, Immunity, Biopolitics was translated to Polish.
