Sigríður Hagalín Björnsdóttir

(born 1974) – well-known Icelandic radio journalist. She comments on national and international events and interviews politicians and scientists, which gives her an excellent insight into the decision-making processes and contemporary politics. Eyland [The Island] is her literary debut. As the author noted in an interview, she wanted to write this novel a long time ago, but she was convinced that someone else must have come up with this idea before.
