prose writer and playwright. Author of the novels Morphine (2012), Drach (2014), The King (2016), The Kingdom (2018) and Pokora (Humility, 2020), as well as the journal Wieloryby i ćmy (Whales and Moths, 2015) and the collection of short stories Ballada o pewnej panience (The Ballad of a Certain Maiden, 2017). Winner of the “Polityka” Passport award, the Kościelski Award, the Brücke Berlin-Preis, the Silesian Laurel of Literature and the Nike Readers’ Prize. His novel The King was adapted for a series produced by Canal +. He an active promoter of Silesian culture and identity.
