Tamara Duda

Ukrainian journalist and translator, also known under her pen name Horikha Zernya (Seed of the Nut), author of two novels. From 2014 to 2016, she worked as a volunteer in the war zone in eastern Ukraine. Together with her partner and later husband Svyatoslav Boyko, she raised funds, bought military equipment and uniforms, and delivered them to the front line.Her debut novel Daughter (translated into Polish by Marcin Gaczkowski), which is set in the war-torn Donbass, won the Ukraine BBC’s prize for the best novel of 2019. In 2022, Tamara Duda received the 2022 Shevchenko National Prize for Literature.
