Verena Kessler

German writer. From 2016 to 2020, she studied at the German Institute for Literature in Leipzig. In 2020, she published her debut novel The Ghosts of Demmin, in which she tells the story of a small German town where in 1945, with the arrival of the Red Army, almost a thousand people committed mass suicide.
