Wassim Ibrahim

Composer, instrumentalist and educator. He was born in Damascus, where he obtained a degree in civil engineering in 1998. He later went on to study harmony and counterpoint at the High Institute of Music. He came to Poland in 2013 and obtained his master’s degree in composition studies at the Academy of Music in Kraków under the guidance of Professor Józef Rychlik. In 2019, also in Kraków, he received his doctoral degree in music composition, working with Professor Wojciech Widłak. He founded and still leads the amateur Choir in Contact (Space of Movement and Dance), which was honoured with the title of Kraków Ambassador of Multiculturalism in 2019.
