Meeting with Miroslava Kuľková - Slovak writer, author of the short story volume Hotel Balkan.
Seven short stories, seven different stories, each set in a different Balkan country. The whole is tied together by a young writer attempting to interview local politicians about the dark years in the Balkans. When politics take the back seat, the people living there with all their experiences, dilemmas and desires come to the fore. They are looking for their own way to finding others and themselves in the confusing reality of the Balkans. Hotel Balkan was shortlisted for Slovakia's most prestigious literary award, Anasoft Litera, as one of the ten best books of 2024 and eventually won the Readers' Choice Award.
