In the literature of the writers participating in this event, Poland sometimes appears as a cosmic empire, a land of melancholy, a faded backdrop for existential horror – and sometimes all of these at once. Such images shatter prevailing myths and show that there is no single, coherent story of our homeland. And that is a good thing, for this kaleidoscope better captures our fears and desires.
