The title of this meeting refers to the famous quote from Karl Marx's Theses on Feuerbach: “Philosophers have only variously interpreted the world; the point, however, is to change it.” It was penned by a 25-year-old man, who held a belief that philosophy is not just a theoretical field, but one that is largely practical. Michał Paweł Markowski has been interpreting literary works and social phenomena for years. He sparks debates to inspire people to think and act in different ways. What is the aim of interpretation these days? Why is it that literature can help us when we try to imagine a different social order, a different world? It will also be a conversation about fifteen years of the Conrad Festival and its place on the map of international literary events.
